Plans we do not accept

We do not accept Medicaid or NJ FamilyCare plans.

In-network or out-of-network?

When a dental office is in-network with your insurance company, it has agreed to that company’s fees, which usually means lower costs for you. You can also use many plans at an out-of-network office, but your share of the cost may be higher. Whether we are in-network depends on your carrier and your specific plan, so ask us when you call and we will explain what it means for your costs.

How insurance works at Ararat Dental

  1. Send us your details: patient name and date of birth, insurance company, member ID, policyholder name, and group number if you have one.
  2. We check your benefits and explain what your plan covers before treatment.
  3. Bring your insurance card to your visit. You pay your share, such as your deductible, coinsurance, or any amount above your plan’s annual maximum.
  4. We file the claim with your insurance company for you.

What dental insurance usually covers

Many PPO dental plans group services into three levels. Your exact coverage depends on your plan, and we confirm it when we check your benefits.

  • Preventive care (exams, cleanings, routine X-rays): often covered at or near 100%.
  • Basic care (fillings, simple extractions, and in many plans root canal treatment): often covered at about 70–80%.
  • Major care (crowns, bridges, dentures, and implants when the plan includes them): often covered at about 50%.

Most plans also have a yearly deductible and an annual maximum, and some have waiting periods for major care. Orthodontic coverage, including braces and Invisalign® clear aligners, is often a separate benefit with its own lifetime maximum and age limits.

Use your 2026 benefits before they reset

Many dental plans run on the calendar year, so your annual maximum and unused benefits often reset on January 1. If you have treatment planned or have not had your cleanings this year, booking a visit in October, November or December can help you use benefits you have already paid for. Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds may also have a year-end deadline, so check your plan’s rules.

Medicare and dental coverage

Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) generally does not cover routine dental care such as cleanings, fillings or dentures. Many Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans do include dental benefits, and we accept those plans. Call us with your card and we will check what yours covers before your visit.

No insurance? You still have options

We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, debit cards, cash and FSA cards, and we offer financing so you can spread the cost of treatment. New patients can also ask about our current special offers.
